As a multi-trade Contractor, Gaskell Refurbishments has built up a wealth of experience working across many industry sectors.
In terms of Social Housing, we have been one of the leading Contractors involved in the Decent Homes Programme, which aims to provide a minimum standard of housing for all those housed in the public sector.

Working across London, the Home Counties, the Midlands and East Anglia, for Clients such as Keepmoat, United House, Makers, Thomas Sinden and Engie, our specialist teams have undertaken all aspects of this nationwide refurbishment programme, from repairing both the internal and external fabrics of modern and period housing stock, to roofing, damp proofing and kitchen and bathroom installations, including new heating and electrical systems.

Our experience in this sector also led us to become involved with the first Social Housing PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contract in the country. Working in the London Borough of Islington for United House, our teams comprised a large percentage of the workforce responsible for the major refurbishment of over 7000 Victorian properties. Full details of our involvement with this PFI contract can be found on our Case Studies page.

Gaskell Refurbishments has also earned a solid reputation in the Commercial, Retail and Leisure sectors by undertaking major refurbishment programmes for some of the country’s leading companies.

Market leading brands including Tescos, McDonalds, Coca Cola, Lloyds TSB, BP, Trust House Forte, Siemens, Unwins and Aston Martin have all chosen to take advantage of our services over the last 30 years.

In addition, our Company has always prided itself on the diverse nature of the projects we have been a part of in the Heritage sector.

Over the years we have had the privilege of working on buildings of enormous historic significance, such as Benjamin Franklin House in London, the last remaining home of the great politician, the impressive Woburn Abbey, ancestral home of the Duke of Bedford, and the iconic Bletchley Park, home to the code breakers of WWII and birthplace of the modern computer.

Our expertise in the Public Works sector is also substantial and varied. From refurbishing transport hubs such as St Pancreas and King’s Cross stations for British Rail and London Underground, to carrying out projects on behalf of elite educational institutions such as Brunel University, Gaskell Refurbishments is always ready to apply our considerable experience to new challenges in any sector.
